Reviews of PR Apps

Published on 12 May 2024 at 19:55

I thought that my first blog should be about something that is important to PR professionals, apps! Since the world revolves around so much technology now it is always beneficial to know which apps are free and which apps actually help. While most PR professionals are familiar with the most common apps like Canva, Hootsuite, Adobe, and others similar to those, there are others that some may not have heard of.

Honeybook

I had heard about this app before I decided to become a Public Relations Practitioner or even get into this field at all. While not knowing what this app was actually for I did overhear that people loved this app because it made things easier for them. Upon digging in deeper myself when doing some research for apps for PR professionals I found that this app has so much to offer for someone in the PR world. This app is a CRM app all rolled into one. It allows you to create invoices, send out reminders, book appointments, keep track of your finances, and even has a breathing exercise in the mobile app! This app has a free trial and unfortunately, like most great apps will require you to sign up and pay a fee. I found that for what you get with this app, the fee is very much worth the price. I love that it has the breathing app on the mobile app as I mentioned earlier as well as a client portal. I find that the more you can connect with your clients the better of a relationship you can build. I didn’t quite want to set up my invoices just yet, so I wasn’t able to get the full benefit of the free trial, however, I believe that this is an app I will invest in.

Prowly

While I did not get to access this app, I did think it was worth mentioning that for the price this company expects you to pay for what is supposed to be a CRM app, they have some very strict guidelines! I was interested because I had seen ads for this online and thought I might try the free trial out. However, to my surprise, they do not allow gmail email addresses! Many businesses use gmail addresses and not specific email addresses set up for the company, so I found this to be a very odd requirement.

Vista Social

I, personally, love the app Hootsuite, so I find it very hard to find any app that comes close to that, however, Vista Social…WOW! Vista Social was so easy to connect all of my socials to, the AI features are amazing, and it is set up in such an easy-to-use manner that it takes less than a minute to navigate and understand the app. It is available on the desktop and mobile, see pictures below. It is an app you will have to pay for after the free trial ends. Again, like most really good apps, this is usually the case. I believe this app starts at $79/month which is cheaper than other apps that offer the same thing. Oh, what does it offer?? Ha! Silly me, of course! This app is a social media-creating genius app. Actually, it will just keep you sane while you are trying to post to so many platforms as it has calendars, tasks, reports, and so many other beneficial products. This social media management app has it all and if it doesn’t, please let me know what I am missing out on! I will say though that when I went to create a post for the free trial to thoroughly try this out, it did limit me before asking for a credit card. I did not like that as I think a free trial should be just that, with no strings attached. It’s interesting to see that everyone has their own unique way of selling. I do think that other apps offer more media (photos, gifs, videos) for posts if you do not have your own however, the ones that I did see are spot on and still a good variety!

Final Thoughts

As I conclude my first blog, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my reviews and insights on these apps with you. Remember, these are solely my opinions, and I encourage you to explore and form your own conclusions. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my thoughts. Here’s to more engaging discussions in the future!
